Framed Photographers
Tal Roberts, Contributor
Winner: Creative/Unique Category
Tal Roberts had to be talked into shooting photos for a living. He didn't want his passion to be his grind. Despite being published around the world, he still chose to swing a hammer for a day job. But Tal's talent is too large, his ego too small, and he's too easy to work with. His list of clients and accomplishments is growing from gallery shows at Ochi Gallery to campaigns for Smith Optics, ScottUSA, and Sun Valley Resort. Originally from Gig Harbor, Wash. Tal is a fixture of Ketchum, Idaho's youth culture.
Jim Meyers, Contributor
Originally a Philly boy, Jim Meyers is a Seattle-based commercial photographer at www.vertizonphoto.com, specializing in editorial, portrait and adventure photography. He's a "lifer" in the outdoor industry and that's what brought him to the great Republic of Cascadia in '98, after a stint in Colorado where he became infected with the outdoor adventure virus. He, his wife Maria and two kids, Jasper and Nevada, would rather live here.

Winner: Epic/Stunning & Best Beer Related Story
Alpine starts, long days, deep friendships, fireside music, full moons, desert sunsets, my sleeping bag. Photography has been there for me throughout as a way to engage the outdoors and adventures we live. I'm grateful, when its all said and done, to come away with images that inspire me to get out there and do it again. It is my hope that my images may inspire you as well.
Jason Hummel, Contributor
Northwest native Jason Hummel learned to ski in the backcountry at age six, but he didn't pick up photography until his best friend, Ben Manfredi passed away in a kayaking accident in late 2003. It was with Ben's camera that Jason took his first images and found that he had a passion for photography. In late 2009, as the markets were crashing Jason left his career as a financial adviser to go ski, hike, bike and kayak. Along the way he was asked if he'd publish his images. It was then that Jason discovered that photography was more to his liking than crunching numbers and advising clients on the best way to invest their life savings, so instead he took his own advice and invested his life savings into himself. These days, the return on that investment can be seen in his images, which continue to grow and develop as he expands his horizons.
