17,470 Gallons — Why it matters?

LMA has funded and maintained toilets throughout Icicle and Tumwater Canyons for nearly a decade. In 2024 alone, these toilets removed 17,470 gallons of human waste.

By providing reliable facilities at busy climbing areas and trailheads, we help keep human waste out of the canyons and local waterways—and keep these places cleaner for everyone who recreates here.

How it works

LMA funds seasonal portable toilets at popular climbing areas and trailheads throughout Icicle and Tumwater Canyons. We also help fund cleaning and maintenance of high-use USFS toilets.

Working with the USFS and local service providers, we adjust locations and servicing throughout the season based on recreation use, road access, and conditions.

Sponsor a toilet

It costs $1,050 to provide and service one portable toilet for a seven-month season.

Individuals and local businesses can sponsor a toilet for the season, helping keep one of Leavenworth's busiest recreation areas clean and giving thousands of visitors access to a reliable restroom.

Help keep the canyons clean

Toilets are just one part of keeping Leavenworth's climbing areas clean. Join LMA for community cleanups throughout Icicle and Tumwater Canyons to pick up trash and care for the places we all love to recreate.
